- Phaeoaetus: gr. φαιος phaios „ciemny, brązowy, szary”; αετος aetos „orzeł”[10]. Gatunek typowy: Falco limnaeetus Horsfield, 1821[d].
- Limnaetops: rodza Limnaetus Vigors & Horsfield, 1830; gr. ωψ ōps, ωπος ōpos „oblicze”[11].
Podział systematyczny[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Do niedawna wszystkie gatunki z tego rodzaju zaliczane były do rodzaju Spizaetus skupiającego gatunki występujące w Azji, Afryce i Ameryce[7]. Badania molekularne wykazały jednak, że gatunki azjatyckie są bliżej spokrewnione z orlikiem malajskim (Ictinaetus malayensis)[12][13]. Do rodzaju należą następujące gatunki[14]:
- Nisaetus kelaarti (Legge, 1878) – wojownik jarzębaty
- Nisaetus nanus (Wallace, 1868) – wojownik mały
- Nisaetus nipalensis Hodgson, 1836 – wojownik górski
- Nisaetus bartelsi (Stresemann, 1924) – wojownik jawajski
- Nisaetus alboniger Blyth, 1845 – wojownik żałobny
- Nisaetus lanceolatus (Temminck & Schlegel, 1844) – wojownik krótkoczuby
- Nisaetus philippensis (J.H. Gurney, 1863) – wojownik filipiński
- Nisaetus pinskeri (Preleuthner & Gamauf, 1998) – wojownik leśny
- Nisaetus cirrhatus (J.F. Gmelin, 1788) – wojownik indyjski
- Nisaetus floris (E. Hartert, 1898) – wojownik sundajski
