Opis
English: Motiv / Motif: På denne tiden visste man ikke at den farlige sykdommen skjørbuk skyldtes c-vitaminmangel, men man hadde erfart at ferskt og ikke gjennomstekt kjøtt i kostholdet motvirket sykdommen. Amundsen jaktet mye under ekspedisjonen for å forsyne mannskapet med kjøtt.
